This is not a fundraising event. The objective of this event is to raise awareness of the situation the Coutts prisoners are facing and ignite Canadians into taking action by distributing flyers, writing letters to elected representatives, and writing to the Crown prosecutor's office of Alberta at jsg-acps.calgaryprosecutions@gov.ab.ca asking for the release of Christopher Carbert, Anthony Olienick until trial.
*Jerry Morin, and Christopher Lysak have just been released from prison on a plea bargain agreeing to gun related charges (Feb 6, 2024). Two more prisoners to go!
Again, the goal is public awareness; to gather a group of supporters at the courthouse at 9 AM and distribute brochures (14”X8.5” trifold) . There is a downloadable/ printable brochure (14” X 8.5”) available at https://4justice.ca/resources
If you choose to be a coordinator of one of these events, the national organizers will equip you with an event poster similar to ones attached. We will also equip you with the pdfs of brochures similar to ones attached.
The national organizers of this event are hosting a planning meeting on Sunday, February11 at 6 PM PST / 7 PM MST / 9 PM EST. This meeting will tell you all you need to know about the vision for the event and the responsibilities of being a coordinator. Also, if you could forward this email to other individuals who may game to serve as professional coordinators, that would be very helpful to the momentum.
